Contact the consultant's office and inquire about any tests, scans, or bloodwork that would be helpful to complete before your appointment so that the results are available for discussion during your visit.

You can contact the healthcare facility that did your MRI, or other tests/scans, and request all the data they hold on you (including your results) through their Data Protection Office.

Most Consultants will write to your referring doctor with a summary of what happened in your appointment including outcomes, diagnosis or test results

Feeling this way after receiving life-changing news is completely normal.  Unfortunately, it's also common to be left at home with a diagnosis and few coping mechanisms or support structures in place.

Ask your GP if they can run blood tests, ahead of your Consultant appointment, to help indicate if or which auto immune condition you may have. Research what tests can help diagnose your possible condition.
