Prepare Your Mind
Our 5-Step guide to help declutter the mind and structure your thoughts and priorities.
Download our Mind Map Template and follow the steps outlined below.
Step 1 - Free Writing
Grab a pen and paper or open a blank document, then start writing whatever comes to mind when asked the question 'How Are You Feeling?' Try not to filter or edit, and let your thoughts flow freely. Ignore spelling and grammar mistakes as the primary focus is getting the words down.

Step 2 - Mind Map
A mind map is a visual representation of ideas and concepts, typically structured around a central theme or topic. In this case, we will use it to categorize our answers to the question 'How Do I Feel' into the four categories shown in the example on the right.

Step 3 - Prioritise
Taking a look at what you've put in each category of your mind map, start highlighting or ranking each section with the critical items for you right now, things you need help to address urgently.

Step 4 - Breaking it Down
You now have a prioritised list of your concerns, fears and symptoms, which is crucial to help understand what you want out of your appointment. But we can do more work to help. Put your prioritised items onto a fresh mind map, and see if you can start being more specific in explaining them.

Step 5 - Identify Themes
Now that you have broken down your prioritized items into as much detail as possible, take a step back and revisit what you've written. If possible, try to identify common themes that appear across all your categories.
